Short answer: businesses that go viral on short-form video are not the ones with the best camera. They are the ones that post every day, open with a hook in the first three seconds, keep the same face on screen, burn in captions for the ninety percent watching on mute, and reply to comments within minutes. AI makes that daily system possible for a business with no videographer and no spare afternoon. This guide walks through the system step by step, using the LumisReach Viral Videos studio as the worked example.
A note on the word "viral". Nobody can promise a specific video will take off. What you can control is the number of at-bats, the quality of each hook, and whether the platform's signals (watch time, replies, consistency) are working for you or against you. Everything below is about controlling what you can control.
Why does daily posting matter more than production quality?
Short-form platforms rank accounts, not just videos. An account that posts daily, holds attention past the first three seconds, and answers comments quickly gets shown to more people on the next post. An account that posts three polished videos in a week and then goes quiet for a month starts from zero each time. The practical rule: one decent video a day beats one great video a week, and both beat a burst followed by silence.
The reason most businesses stop is not filming. It is deciding what to say, every day, forever. That is the step to automate first.
Step 1: Let the research decide the topic
Before any script, something has to answer "why this video, today?" In LumisReach Viral Videos, the AI producer reads your website and any sources you give it (up to 10 images, 5 videos, documents and a description), studies what similar businesses are posting on Instagram, checks the news and what is trending in your category, and recommends five videos. You see the competitor analysis and the trends it found, and nothing renders until you pick one.
If you are doing this by hand, the equivalent is twenty minutes a day in your category's hashtags and your competitors' feeds, noting which formats are getting views this week. Either way, a topic that is current this week outperforms an evergreen quote card.
Step 2: Pick a format that fits the message
Different messages want different formats. The templates in Viral Videos map to the formats that work on the feeds right now:
| Template | What it makes | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Talking avatar | A spokesperson over a capture of your page, photo or footage | Most business messages; the default |
| Motion graphics | A narrator over animated, code-drawn scenes in a chosen style | Launches, explainers, premium brands |
| Automated Demo | An AI agent clicks through your product in a real browser, screen-recorded | "Here's how it works" posts, onboarding |
| Freeform UGC | AI-generated scenes riding a trend preset | Trend-jacking, humor |
| Meme hook | A viral meme clip for the first seconds, then your presenter | Scroll-stopping openers |
| Interview | A split-screen conversation between AI avatars | Q&A, customer-and-expert formats |
| Device Greenscreen | Your site or video on the screen of a real filmed phone or laptop | App and website showcases |
| Real footage with caption | A stock clip of a person with your caption on top | "POV" and "nobody tells you" formats |
| Slideshow | 3 to 10 captioned slides as a TikTok photo post or Instagram carousel | Listicles, myth vs fact |
Pick vertical 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, and horizontal 16:9 for YouTube, LinkedIn and your own website. Length runs from 10 seconds to 5 minutes; most feed videos should be under a minute.
Step 3: Write a 90-word script with the hook first
A feed video has three seconds to earn the next ten. The script structure that works: a hook that names the viewer's problem or a surprising claim, one idea developed in plain language, and a single call to action. About ninety spoken words is thirty to forty seconds.
In Viral Videos you can choose "Write it for me" and edit the result, or paste your own script of up to 5,000 words to be read word for word. The producer chat sits beside every step, so "make it funnier and shorter" or "give me five edgier ideas" are one message away.
Step 4: Keep the same face on screen
Consistency is what makes an account feel like a person rather than a content farm, and the platforms reward recognition. Options, from least to most effort:
- Studio presenters. Pre-made AI spokespeople, with no setup.
- Your own digital twin. Made from a photo or a short video of you, with a consent step. After that it reads any script, in your voice, at any length, and you never have to film again.
- Record yourself. Film yourself reading the script; the studio cuts you out and places you over your page.
- Audio only. A narrator with no face, for motion graphics and slideshows.
Narration uses ElevenLabs voices (Eleven v4 by default). The presenter can sit front and center or in a bubble in a corner while your website scrolls behind them, which is the walkthrough format that does well on LinkedIn.
Step 5: Caption everything, because most viewers are on mute
Captions are not an accessibility afterthought; they are the primary way most of your audience will consume the video. Burn them in rather than relying on platform captions. Viral Videos offers seven styles, from a classic outlined line to one-word-at-a-time emphasis, with optional emojis that float in at the moments that deserve one. Pick an accent color that matches your brand and keep it on every video.
Step 6: Add B-roll and music, then stop fiddling
B-roll cutaways every few seconds keep the video moving. The studio can pull from your own images and videos, stock footage, motion graphics, AI-generated clips, greenscreen, or an automated demo of your site, with 11 transitions to choose from. Background music comes from a built-in library of 91 royalty-free tracks across 13 genres, cleared for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn, and it ducks under speech automatically. TikTok posts can also use TikTok's Commercial Music Library. Changing the music later never needs a re-render.
The trap at this step is perfectionism. A video that ships today at 80 percent beats one that ships Thursday at 95 percent.
Step 7: Post at the right hour, on every platform, with a native caption
Each platform wants its own caption and hashtags, and each audience is active at a different hour. Viral Videos posts to TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and YouTube with a caption per platform, now or on a schedule. Standing schedules make and post a new video on a cadence ("every weekday morning, from what is trending"), and a calendar shows what is scheduled and what has gone out. If you do not want to connect your own accounts, pre-made TikTok and Instagram accounts are available for $20 per month.
Step 8: Reply to comments within minutes
A video with forty unanswered comments is a video that stops being shown. Fast replies are one of the strongest signals a platform has that a post is worth pushing, and they are the step every business abandons first. The LumisReach Content Marketing Strategist stays in the comments all day, replying in your voice with your prices and policies, and turns a buying-signal comment into a lead that can become a phone call within the minute through the Speed-to-Lead Agent.
Step 9: Read the analytics and feed them back
Before posting, the studio predicts performance. After posting, it tracks real views, watch time and engagement per video. The formats and hooks that worked on your account get used more, the ones that did not get used less. That loop, run daily for a few months, is what "viral" actually looks like for a business account: a rising baseline with occasional spikes, not a single lucky hit.
What does AI video cost?
Each video is priced by what goes into it (the presenter render, generated shots, narration, stock clips, rendering) and the price is shown on the button before you start. The Growth Marketing Manager, which includes the Viral Videos studio, the Content Marketing Strategist and Lincoln AI, is $95 per month plus usage, with 100 video credits included each billing period; one credit is one dollar of video. Past the included credits, videos are charged at cost plus a small markup. Retries of a failed render, B-roll swaps, caption fixes, music changes and posting are free. Details on the pricing page.
Can an AI agent run the whole thing?
Yes. In LumisReach, "Generate Automatically" lets the producer make every choice and run all seven steps, and you review the result before it posts. Lincoln AI, the workspace agent, takes a plain request like "make a 30-second video about our spring promotion and post it to Instagram on Friday" or "every Monday, research what's trending and make two videos", and runs it on a schedule. The same studio is available to developers through the Videos API and the MCP server.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make viral videos with AI?
Use an AI video studio that handles research, script, render and posting, then commit to a daily cadence. The working system is: pick a topic that is trending in your category this week, choose a template that fits the message, write a 90-word script with the hook in the first three seconds, use the same spokesperson every time, burn in captions, post to every platform with a native caption at the hour your audience is active, and reply to comments within minutes. LumisReach Viral Videos automates each of those steps.
Do I need to be on camera to make AI marketing videos?
No. You can use a studio presenter, a digital twin made from a photo or a short video of you, a narrator with no face, or templates such as motion graphics, automated product demos and slideshows that have no presenter at all.
How much does it cost to make AI videos for social media?
With LumisReach, the Growth Marketing Manager is $95 per month plus usage and includes 100 video credits per billing period, where one credit is one dollar of video. Each video's price is shown before it renders, and retries, caption fixes, music changes and posting are free.
Which platforms can AI videos be posted to automatically?
LumisReach Viral Videos posts to TikTok, Instagram (Reels and photo carousels), Facebook, X, LinkedIn and YouTube, each with its own caption, immediately or on a schedule.
Is the background music safe to use commercially?
The built-in LumisReach library has 91 royalty-free tracks across 13 genres cleared for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn. On TikTok you can also enable TikTok's Commercial Music Library for your account and use its trending sounds.
